Total domestic auto sales witness dip of 22.41% in September 2019: SIAM

The total domestic automobile sales witnessed a dip of 22.41% in September 2019 as compared to the September 2018, according to Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

According to SIAM 2,00,4932 units were produced in September this year as compared to September 2018 sales of 2,584,062 units.

Some key takeaways from the data released by the SIAM on the automobile sales in the Indian market in September 2019 are as follows-

– A dip of 33.40% has been registered in the sales of Passenger Cars in September’19 as compared to September’18.

– Sales of Utility Vehicles increased by 5.49% in September’19 as compared to September’18.

– Sales of Vans dipped by 42.66% in September’19 as compared to September’18.

– Sales of Commercial Vehicles witnessed a dip of 39.06% in September’19 as compared to September’18.

– Two-wheelers saw a dip in sales by 22.09% in September’19 as compared to September’18.

– Three-wheelers sales saw a decline of 3.92% in September’19 as compared to September’18.

– Total exports of Two-wheelers grew by 2.10% while Three-wheelers segment dipped by 7.60%, in September’19 as compared to September’18.

– Total exports of Commercial Vehicles dipped by 29.53% while total exports of Passenger Vehicles increased by 5.64%, in September’19 as compared to September’18.

– A total of 2,406,640 vehicles, including Passenger, Commercial, Three-wheelers, Two-wheelers & Quadricycle were produced in September’19 as against 2,945,431 in September’18, witnessing a total decline of 18.29%.
