A Delhi court on Friday dismissed former finance minister P Chidambaram’s plea seeking permission to surrender before the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The 73-year-old leader will now remain in jail till September 19.
The Congress leader had moved an application to surrender to ED in the INX Media case. Chidambaram has been in judicial custody since September 5. He was arrested by the CBI on August 21 night and spent 14 days in the agency’s custody.

Earlier on Thursday, the Delhi High Court sought a status report from the CBI on the plea filed by Chidambaram for regular bail in INX Media case. The investigation agency has been asked to file the report within 7 days.
