You need luck and hard work to ink a best-seller: Jeffrey Archer

Date:

NewsMobile’s Editor-in-Chief Saurabh Shukla interviewed the bestselling author and novelist Jeffrey Archer who gave useful insights about not only his journey as a writer but also gave tips to writers who aspire to be best-selling authors.

His new book ‘Nothing ventured’ releases on September 5 which is published by Pan Macmillan.

The author said, “Most difficult book I’ve written is ‘Kane and Abel’, which is in its 123rd edition and has so far sold 32,400,000 copies.” In India, 50 million copies have been sold, he added.

Archer said that it took 14 drafts and a long time to publish the book but it was worthwhile. He also gave young writers advice on how they should write about what they know. Like he wrote about politics, art, big business, and cricket, which he loves.

When asked about what it takes to be the best-seller he said: “The truth about being a best-selling author is that you need a bit of luck because you need to have the gift to be able to tell stories.”

When asked about people writing books to get into Bollywood he said: “It’s foolish to write a book because you want to be in Bollywood, write a book because its a story you want to tell. If you want to be in Bollywood write a screenplay, not a novel.”

Find out more about him and his new book below.
