Fact Checked: Russian Prez Putin never said that ‘Pakistan is a cemetery for Pakistani’s’

A quote attributed to Russian President Vladimir Putin is going viral on social media.

RUSSIAN PRESIDENT, Vladimir Putin Says: Pakistan Is A Cemetery For Pakistani’s: “When a Pakistani becomes rich, his bank accounts are in Switzerland. He travels to London/ America for Medical treatment.

He invests in Uk/ Dubai. He buys from Dubai. He consumes Chinese. He prays in Rome or Mecca. His children study in Europe. He travels to Canada, USA, Europe for tourism.

If he die, he will be buried in his native country of Pakistan.

Pakistan is just a cemetery for Pakistani’s. How could a cemetery be developed?” ” the text read. 

FACT CHECK 

When NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, we found it to be FAKE.

When we ran a Google search using the keywords, we did not find any news report to confirm this statement.

However, we found several posts, dated 2018, that has attributed the same quote to Putin except the quote said Africa instead of Pakistan.

On further investigation, we found out that this post was posted on a Facebook page ‘ Al Jazeera West Africa’.

A website Ghanaian News busted this fake news.

Moreover, the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Information – Ghana on December 13, 2018, called out this page and clarified that it is a fake page.

“Please take note, this page Al Jazeera West Africa is fake, ” the announcement said.

This proves that the viral post is FAKE and Putin never made any such statement regarding Pakistan.
