Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held talks with his Bahraini counterpart Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa and discussed issues of mutual interests.
PM Modi arrived in Bahrain on Saturday evening on the third leg of this three-nation tour. This is the Prime Minister’s maiden visit to the Gulf nation.
After the meet, PM Modi tweeted, “Honoured to have met HH Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Our talks were comprehensive and included a wide range of subjects concerning India-Bahrain relations.”

The Prime Minister also addressed the Indian community at Bahrain National Stadium.

During his address, he also remembered Arun Jaitley who passed away on Saturday noon.
“My friend Arun Jaitley loved India, loved his party and loved being among people. It is upsetting and unbelievable that a person I have known since our youth is no longer in our midst. I pay my tributes to him,” PM Modi said.

Earlier, PM Modi was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Al Gudaibiya Palace in Manama.
