Ahead of trust vote on Monday, Section 144 to be imposed near K’taka Assembly

A day after BS Yediyuruppa took oath as Karnataka Chief Minister, and will have to prove majority on Monday, Bengaluru Commissioner of Police, Alok Kumar on Saturday issued an order of Section 144 to be imposed from 6 am 29 July to 30 July midnight within 2 km radius area of Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru.

Section 144 prohibits an assembly of more than 5 people in an area.

Addressing a press conference on Friday after first Cabinet meeting after taking oath as Chief Minister, BS Yediyurappa said, “I will prove the majority and get the finance bill passed on Monday.”

The 14-month Congress-JD(S) coalition government fell after the Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy lost the trust vote in Karnataka Assembly on Tuesday.
