The youngest MP in the 17th Lok Sabha, Chandrani Murmu, on Thursday urged the Centre to set up a mega steel plant in her constituency Keonjhar, Odisha.
In her maiden speech in the Parliament, the 26-year-old BJD MP said, “Keonjhar has raw materials in abundance and all other criterion required for setting up of a steel plant. Like the one in Rourkela, I want the Centre to establish a mega steel plant in Keonjhar.”

Murmu also said the steel plant would be of great help in creating jobs for local youth in her constituency.
Murmu, an engineering graduate, had won the Keonjhar Lok Sabha seat by defeating two-time BJP MP Ananta Nayak by a good margin of 66,203 votes.
