While India defeated Bangladesh to seal their semi-final spot on Tuesday, but the centre of attraction was the 87- year- old Charulata Patel, who was seen cheering for India in the stands during the match and waving the tricolour.
Soon after she was spotted on the screen, she became the internet sensation.
After India won the match business tycoon Anand Mahindra took it to Twitter to hail the sprit of the superfan and offered to sponsor World Cup tickets for an elderly Indian fan.
After her pictures went viral Anand Mahindra tweeted that he was going to switch on his TV and watch the match just for her.

Then a Twitter user asked Mahindra is he could sponsor the fan and in no time he agreed to it.

After the match Indian skipper Virat Kohli and batsmen Rohit Sharma shared some moments with Charulata Patel.
“India will win the world cup I am sure. I pray to Lord Ganesha that India wins. I bless the team always. When Kapil paaji won the World Cup in 1983, I was there as well.”, she said.
