The Rising Sun Films Production along with Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar will hit the theatre on October 2, 2020, according to the makers.
‘Sardar Udham Singh’ the film is directed by Shoojit Sircar and written by Ritesh Shah and Shubendu Bhattacharya.
Sardar Udham Singh is a biopic on Udham Singh, a revolutionary, who is remembered for assassinating the British Lieutenant Governor, the man behind the atrocious Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Earlier, actor Irrfan Khan was chosen for the lead role but he had to be replaced as he was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour and was not fit enough for an action role.
However, as far as, Vicky Kaushal is concerned, he has never failed any character given to him and has proved his versatility as an actor.
Starting his Bollywood career with a critically acclaimed ‘Masaan’ and giving huge hits like ‘Raazi’, ‘Sanju’ and ‘URI’, he has created his mark in the industry, giving the feel of British India in 1940.
A few months ago, Vicky Kaushal revealed his first look as Udham Singh, and since than fans are left impressed, awaiting for the movie to release.
In the photo, the actor looks debonair in his overcoat and well-groomed hair. In the background, one can see vintage cars and a Russian woman.
The filmmaker told in an interview, that the film will be shot in the outskirts of London, parts of Ireland, Germany and India.
Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram to announce the release date of the film, which is Gandhi Jayanti next year.
Confirming the same news, director said, “Yes, we will be releasing the film on October 2, 2020. Keeping in mind the remaining shoot schedule, post-production and the time required to complete the film, my producers and good friends Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar advised this date for a feasible release next year and I have decided to go with it.”
Apart from this, Vicky Kaushal will be seen in ‘Bhoot Part One: Haunted Ship’ along with Bhumi Pednekar, ‘Takht’, co-starring Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar and ‘Ticket to Bollywood’
Meanwhile, Shoojit Sircar will work with Amitabh Bachchan for his upcoming venture, ‘Gulabo Sitabo’.
