As today marks the 479th birth anniversary of the brave Rajput warrior Maharana Pratap, one of the greatest warriors in Indian History who’s contributions have helped to make our country a better place.

Maharana Pratap was the 13th King Of Mewar who fought bravely against Mughal rule in India and unlike most of the Rajput rulers at the time, he declined to form an alliance with Akbar and come under his command.

He is best known for the true bravery and valour he displayed in the Battle of Haldighati wherein he slayed many of his enemies.

Maharana Pratap Jayanti is celebrated extensively in North India and many other parts of the country as well.

Special religious ceremonies and pujas are performed in honour of his legacy. Maharana Pratap’s statue is located in Udaipur- you will find it crowded on this day as people gather from all around the country to visit and celebrate the Rajput warrior.

Maharana Pratap will forever be remembered as the brave, courageous King of Mewar who was loyal to his people and always protected his kingdom.
