FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile fact-checked this, we found it to be fake.

The cybercrime branch of Delhi Police took to Twitter to bust the fake news. The cyber branch arrested an IIT Postgraduate for running a fake website under the name of the scheme.

“ Team of Cyber Crime Unit arrested IIT Post-Grad for running fake website luring people on pretext of free laptops on occasion of new government formation. In two days, the fake website had 1.5 million views. Its link was made viral over WhatsApp. Beware of such WhatsApp messages, ” the tweet read.

Madhur Verma, DCP New Delhi district, also warned people regarding this fake news.

This proves that the viral message is fake and should not be shared further.
