Ajit Doval retained the position of National Security Adviser (NSA) for next five years and gained the cabinet rank in Government of India.

Ajit Doval has been instrumental in the country’s achievements in the national security front. He is a 1968-batch Kerala cadre Indian Police Service officer and was a former Intelligence Bureau chief.
A strategic thinker, Doval was the only police officer to be awarded the Kirti Chakra military medal. He served in Mizoram, Punjab, Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
