A picture post is being shared widely on social media in which a quote is attributed to Bollywood actress Vidya Balan which says, ‘Narendra Modi will be the first the Prime Minister who will directly go to Tihar jail from PM residence.’
The text in Hindi read: “नरेंद्र मोदी देश के पहले पीएम होंगे, जो प्रधानमंत्री आवास से सीधा तिहार जेल जायेंगे,” विद्या बालन|
(Translation: “Narendra Modi will be the first PM of the country, who will go to the Tihar jail directly from the Prime Minister’s house,” Vidya Balan)

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post and found it to be FAKE.
When we searched the above quote on Google we didn’t find any report of Vidya Balan saying anything close to what had been claimed.
We further scanned her (Vidya Balan) verified social media profiles and there also she hadn’t made any statement about PM Modi going to Tihar jail.
Hence, this proves that the viral post related to Vidya Balan is FAKE.
