Find the truth behind this viral picture of Rajnath Singh

Date:

A photo has been making rounds on the internet in which Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh can be seen having snacks with some people.

The caption of the picture read- “ये वही लोग हैं जो कहते थे कि मदरसों में आतंकी पलते हैं आज ये लोग वोट के लिए उन्ही मदरसों में ठूस ठूस कर खा रहे हैं।”

(Translation- These are the same people who used to say that terrorists are born in the Madarsa. Today these people are eating snacks in those madrasas for votes.)

The picture is shared by National Secretary of Samajwadi Party, Preeti Chobey.

FACT CHECK

When the team of fact-checkers at NewsMobile investigated the post, we found that the claim was FAKE.

On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we came across a tweet by Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr Dinesh Sharma.

The picture was posted on January 23rd, 2019 when Rajnath Singh had met All India Muslim Personal Law Board president Maulana Rabey Hasani Nadwi to pay condolence on the death of his brother Maulana Wazeh Hasani Nadwi.

The above information proves that the claim is FAKE.
