Many rare medicinal herbs are found here which are used to create ayurvedic products.
Agasthyamalai Biosphere is now listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Trekking is allowed but with permission from the Forest Department.

Periyar
Periyar is a famous tourist location. Its bountiful landscape and mountains form for some breath-taking sights.
The elephant and Tiger Reserve, Periyar National Park is located in the midst of the Cardamom and Pandalam hills.

Rhodo Valley
