The picture is not from PM Modi’s tenure as the PM; here’s the fact check

Date:

A photo has been making rounds on the internet after Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took a three-day ‘Ganga Yatra’ from Prayagraj to Varanasi.

In the post, two photos are juxtaposed showing Ganga during Congress rule(70 years) and BJP rule(5 years).

The caption read- #VIKAS #NAMOAGAIN

In the collage, it can be seen that the river during Congress rule is dirty, while during BJP’s rule the river is so clean that Priyanka drank water from the river.

FACT CHECK

When we put the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found the picture at the bottom of the collage.

The picture which is claimed to be taken during BJP rule was actually taken back in 2012 when Modi was not in power.

We reached a website in which a Colorado-based traveler had written her Rishikesh visit in March, 2012.

The blog was posted on March 12, 2012.

While the picture in while Priyanka is drinking water is taken on March 29, 2019, by newswire AP.

The information proves that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s picture is photoshopped on an old picture, which proves that the claim is fake.
