Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame is releasing on Friday 26 April in India and fans have already queued up to buy tickets in advance. Online ticketing platform, BookMyShow has witnessed an unimaginable feat with 10 lakh advance bookings in a record-breaking time period.
BookMyShow witnessed a peak of a whopping 18 tickets per second, before the film releases in India and in multiple languages like English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Monday: “‘Avengers: Endgame’ advance booking is unheard of, unimaginable and unprecedented. Much better than several Hindi biggies that opened in 2018 and 2019.”

Avengers: Endgame is the 22nd film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the latest after Captain Marvel, which released last month.

The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson and Brie Larson, amongst other stars. It marks the culmination of a decade long journey and the end of the cinematic universe. EndGame is one of the most anticipated films this year and the record-breaking advance booking is a testament to it.
The series concludes with an epic fight between Supervillian Thanos and superheroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow and so on.
Rahul Kadbet, Vice President Programming, Carnival Cinemas, told IANS: “Around 2.25 lakh tickets have been sold which is about 74 per cent of the capacity for weekend. We have 1000+ shows per day for the movie in over 100 cities. Maximum tickets were sold in Delhi/NCR and Mumbai.”
Shivansh Chanana, a Game Developer said, “I have booked for 4 EndGame shows. The plan is to go with my office team, friends and family. I am excited especially after the reviews. I am counting my days until its ‘EndGame’ day.”
