Superstar Rajinikanth’s fans rejoice! The poster of his upcoming film ‘Darbar’ has just dropped. Darbar is also special as it is the first time Rajinikanth and powerhouse director AR Murugadoss will work together on a project.

The poster suggests that the storyline is set around a cop. The flavour is fun, stylish and light and it has been a long time since Rajinikanth played a cop in one of his films. The filmmakers have not divulged in many details about the project as yet. The film was initially titled ‘Thalaivar 167.’
Actress Nayanthara has been cast opposite Rajinikanth in the film. The actors have already worked together in films like Chandramukhi and Kuselan.

On Monday, Rajinikanth’s publicist Riaz Ahmed share a post regarding the casting of the film on Twitter: “The rumours being speculated about the cast of Thalaivar 167 is not authentic. As of now, only Nayanthara has been roped in the film. Kindly do not spread the news until you get an official press release about the entire confirmed cast.”
Rajinikanth has been seen in three films – Kaala, 2.0, Petta in one year as opposed to his regular pattern of taking on just one project a year.
