Pack your bags, here is a list of top 5 destinations for summer

Date:

As summer is just around the corner, travel enthusiasts might have begun their plans to travel across the country or abroad. With attractive offers and discounts being launched by travel companies, people are willing to explore newer options. If you love to travel and want to explore new countries, then here are our top 5 destinations that are worth checking out.

  1. France

If you love sports then this is the right destination for you as France is on a sporting high. This summer, the eighth Fifa Women’s World Cup kicks off at Parc des Princes in Paris on 7 June, with the final in Lyon on 7 July. The 24 teams will be playing 52 matches in nine cities, so you can explore these cities while enjoying the sports.

  1. Northern Island

If you are a Game of Throne (GoT) fan, this country has something great for you. As the epic fantasy saga hits the screens in April, television network HBO is planning to leave a lasting legacy by converting some of the standing sets into permanent tourist attractions. However, you have to wait a little more as HBO will confirm plans later this year for iconic locations such as Winterfell.

  1. Slovenia

If you love to trek, Slovenia is something to offer to you. The Julian Alps Hiking Trail is a new 300km circular trek around the mountainous north-west of Slovenia. It is divided into stages of about 20km with the first leg opening in April and the journey will be completed by the end of summer. You will see nature’s beauty as the journey will take you through lakes, waterfalls, forests, unusual rock formations and rivers with rapids of clear blue-green water.

4. Rwanda

This South African country is known for its safaris and street art. While gorilla tracking is expensive, there’s plenty of other wildlife to see in protected parks such as Akagera national park where you can see black rhino and lion. In the capital city, Kigali, there’s a new sense of energy in the city and a burgeoning arts scene. Niyo Art Gallery is a large Rwandan house turned exhibition space for local artists, with profits going to help street children.

  1. Macau

Macau has become the center of attraction with the opening of the world’s longest bridge – 34 miles connecting with Hong Kong last November. Although it’s famous for the world’s largest casino gambling hub there are far more interesting ways to spend your money here. As Macau was a Portuguese colony for 300 years it still manifests itself in a unique east-meets-west culture: Chinese temples stand next to preserved Portuguese architecture, street signs are on blue-and-white Portuguese ceramic tiles. Also, Macau has designated a UNESCO creative city of gastronomy in 2017.
