WATCH: When MS Dhoni made a fan chase him on the field

Date:

There is no doubt that MS Dhoni is one of the finest cricketers the world has ever seen. While he having a great touch with the bat and behind the stumps, he on Tuesday during the second innings of the Nagpur ODI against Australia witnessed a fan invading the pitch to greet him which quite normal but this time captain cool decided to something out of the box.

Dhoni being Dhoni, did something which left the fans inside the stadium and those watching on television in splits.

Instead of standing and letting the fan meet and hug him, Mahi decided to have a bit of fun with him. As the fan tried to catch him, Dhoni went around hiding behind players and then ran away from the fan so that he couldn’t catch him. What ensued was a running contest between the two, which ended when both reached the pitch and Dhoni allowing the fan to seek his blessings.

As for the cricketing action, India took a 2-0 lead in the five-match ODI series against Australia following a 8-run win in the second ODI.

The hosts were put into bat, and despite early wobbles, managed to reach the 250-mark on a slow pitch. Skipper Virat Kohli was the start of the show, scoring his 40th ODI century as he made 116 of 120 balls. He got support from Vijay Shankar, who played beautifully for his 46 of 41 balls.

The visitors failed to form any decent partnership as the Indian bowlers, spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav, kept the scoreboard in check and took wickets in regular intervals. In the end, the score of 250 proved to be too much for the Aussies, as they ended up losing by 8 runs.
