‘Please use common sense,’ says PM Modi over Congress’ Rafale deal attack

Date:

Jamnagar: Amid opposition’s constant attack on PM Modi over the Rafale deal and the Balakot air strike, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched an attack at the Congress party.

“Please use common sense; what I said was if we had Rafale at the time of air strikes, then none of our fighter jets would have gone down and none of theirs saved,” PM Modi said in Gujarat’s Jamnagar.

PM Modi further said that India would not sit quietly in the fight against terrorism.

“I said if Rafale was acquired in time it would have made a difference (during the February 27 dogfight), but they say Modi is questioning our air force strike,” he added.

India carried out airstrikes on terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad’s largest camp in Pakistan at Balakot, which came 12 days after the Pulwama bombing that killed 40 CRPF soldiers.

Earlier in the day, Air chief Marshal BS Dhanoa said that the Air Force “can’t count how many people died” when he was asked to give a figure of terrorists killed in the February 26 airstrike.

“We can’t count how many people have died. It depends on how many people were there,” the Air Chief said while addressing a press conference.

“The Air Force is not in a position to count casualties,” he added.
