Date:

A picture of a distorted aircraft is being circulated in the social media claiming that Pakistan Army mistakenly shot down its own aircraft.

FACT CHECK

When we reverse searched the image, we found out that the aircraft is F-16 jet.

In October 2018, a maintenance worker at Belgium’s Florennes Air Force Base accidentally fired a 20mm Vulcan cannon from an F-16 jet, damaging another aircraft nearby.

And as far as the story is concerned, it was originally posted by a site called TheFauxy.com.

According to the company site, It is a Satire Web Portal and the content of this website is a work of fiction.

This proves that the story about ‘Pakistan mistakenly shooting its own aircraft’ holds no ground and is FAKE.
