Romania’s eco-friendly castle of fairies & hills is enchanting!

Date:

Planning a holiday to Europe? Looking for an unusual place, away from the rush of tourists? A location that is not just enchanting but captivates your childhood dreams too.

Well, don’t look beyond this. Transylvania in Romania has just the answer for you. Located in a village called Porumbacu de Sus in Romania, the Clay Castle of the Valley of Fairies is a newly built hotel. And this is just the place your itinerary needs to be made of.

Built by a Romanian couple, Razvan and Gabriela Vasile, this place stirs up the old-world charm of fairies, witches and goblins inside of you. A few years back, the couple decided to sell their home in the capital and built a hotel in the vast wildness. The backdrop was breath-taking too. Carpathian Mountains overlooks the property.

The Clay Castle hotel consists of ten rooms and each has its own entrance. The hotel is built with eco-friendly materials only: clay, sand, straw and wood. They only serve organic food.

Castelul De Lut or the Clay Castle is located in a small village, which is around 40 km away from the town of Sibiu in Transylvania. The location is gorgeous, with a sea of mountains and spectacular natural views.

Even though the hotel is still not fully operational, the number of tourists visiting this place is growing by leaps and bounds. People come to take pictures of the unique structure as also to soak in the environmental beauty of the location.
