BMW India recently launched the new- generation X3 and X4, much to its audience’s delight as both the SUVs were loaded with features and higher performance.
As if this wasn’t enough to get our adrenaline running high, the German automaker has officially teased the X3 M and X4 M (M stands for Motorsports conventionally), both of which are expected to make their global debut pretty soon.
The teaser images of the two M variants have been released where the two are seen draped in camouflage and strut their stuff on a racetrack. While exact technical specifications haven’t been revealed yet, BMW says that the two new SUVs will get a newly developed in-line six engine which will be turbo-charged and could possibly pump out power in excess of 450 bhp. BMW M says that the engine will have a high-revving characteristic and could also make its way to the new M3 and the M4.
The engine will get an 8-speed automatic gearbox along with an ‘M-specific’ all-wheel drive (AWD) version. This will allow the car to split power and torque not only between front and rear wheels but also the rear wheels themselves. The ‘M-Sports’ beasts are expected to get the typical M elements like bigger wheels, bigger brakes, bigger air intakes, quad exhaust tips and further aerodynamic kit as well.
