An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 Richter scale hit parts of Kashmir, the tremors of which were felt in the capital city Srinagar on Tuesday.
The earthquake that struck at 10:17 pm, had its epicentre at a depth of 50 kilometers in northwestern Kashmir, 118 kms from Srinagar, as per officials.
The tremors were also felt in Delhi-NCR and some parts of Pakistan. No loss of life or damage to property has been reported so far.

Earthquake tremors were felt In Pakistan’s Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Murree, Abbottabad, Haripur, Gilgit, Peshawer, Manshera, Battagram Sawat and surrounding areas, as per reports.
Earlier in the day, a 3.8-magnitude earthquake had struct Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh. The tremors were also felt in several parts of Chamba district.
