A picture in the famous #10YearChallenge has gone viral, in which two images of Ganga ghat are being compared claiming clean one to be from 2009 (during Congress Government) and the dirty one from 2019 (During BJP government).
The picture was tweeted by BJP Tamil Nadu unit’s General Secretary Vanathi Srinivasan.

People shared the same image on social media.

FACT CHECK
When NewsMobile Fact Checked the above images, we concluded that claims made through the viral collage are misleading.
To prove it first we divided the two pictures.

Let’s first take the picture on the right which is claimed to be from 2019.
On putting the image through Google Reverse Image search, we found out that article in Economic Times dated June 10, 2015, used the same image.
But that was not all. On further digging about the picture, it was originally posted on Flicker and it used by Wikipedia and the picture was originally taken on March 30, 2009, at Ahilya Ghat, Varanasi by Ken Wieland.
Hence, the picture which is claimed to be from 2019 when BJP was in power, is actually a decade old picture from 2009 when Congress was in power.
Coming to the picture on the left which is claimed to from 2009, we came across an article on Outlook Magzine which used the same image.
Reportedly, this image was taken in 2011.
Though both images were taken during the time when Congress was in power, so the claims made in the viral #10YearChallenge picture are baseless.
