”We all like films and this film industry provides employment opportunities at a larger level. So to promote the industry, there will be single window clearance to ease shooting of films,” Interim Finance Minister Piyush Goyal said during his budget speech.

Apart from this, the government will also include anti-camcording provisions in the Cinematography Act to control film piracy.

With the rise of piracy websites like TamilRockers and Filmywap, entire films are leaked online and made available for free download within hours of release. To combat this menace, these provisions will be introduced.

Hearing Interim FM Piyush Goyal’s announcement today, Indian filmmakers couldn’t stop themselves to say thanks to the government. Filmmakers such as Ashoke Pandit, Vivek Agnihotri and Madhur Bhandarkar has come forward on Twitter to share their happiness.
