The makers of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga unveiled the second trailer just few days prior to the release of the film.
The Shelly Chopra Dhar-directed film featuring real life father-daughter duo Anil Kapoor and Sonam, Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla is a story about family, love and acceptance.

The trailer’s tagline calls the film ‘a story of family, love,’ and ‘acceptance’, while the official description reads, “Love should not come with any labels and it should set one free”.
While the first watch may have you thinking Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is one more rom-com about a Punjabi girl’s wedding. In case you missed it, ELKDTAL‘s trailer was released on YouTube with the hashtag #LetLoveBe, and a few key scenes in the sneak peek also hint that the movie could possibly deal with same-sex relationships, with Sonam playing a lesbian character.
Movies like ‘Aligarh’, ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd’, Deepa Mehta’s controversial ‘Fire’ are some movies that gave a sense of ‘homosexuality’ but couldn’t really impress our audience.
Now that India is currently celebrating the decriminalisation of homosexuality and topics relating to sexual inclusivity are finally at the forefront in our country, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga couldn’t have come at a better time.
Sweety’s character is seen fighting her family to remain by the side of her lover. But will she succeed in doing so? Only time will tell.
Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is slated to release on 1st February, 2019.
