Most often, people are seen pleading for beds in government hospitals owing to their shortage, however, in Bihar, this does not seem to be the case.
In one of the government hospitals’ in Nawada district in Bihar, stray dogs were found sleeping happily on the beds for patients which led the people to raise questions on the public healthcare system in the state.

One of the patients said that real patients are not allotted beds as they are used by stray dogs for their comfort. Another patient said, “the hospital authorities refuse to give us bed sheets. These dogs enjoy the comfort of the bed sheets.”
When the hospital authorities were questioned, they said that they are going to dive into the matter and punish the ones responsible for this.

Umesh Chandra, the Civil Surgeon Incharge said, “we will ascertain how this happened and who’s responsible for it.”
Even last year, in July, in the Nalanda Medical College Hospital is considered to be the second largest government hospital in Bihar which was seen flooded with rainwater following heavy rain showers.
Patients were found lying on an Intensive Care Unit bed with the room filled with rainwater. Moreover, fish were spotted swimming in that water.
