Budget Session of Parliament from Jan 31 to Feb 13

The Budget Session of Parliament will commence on January 31 and the interim Budget will be presented on February 1. The session will commence with the customary address by President Ram Nath Kovind to the joint sitting of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

The session, which will continue till February 13, will have 10 sittings, the officials said.

It will be the last session of the Lok Sabha before the general elections which are due before May.

The winter session of the Parliament was from December 11, 2018 to January 9 2019 (as Rajya Sabha was extended by one day to debate the Reservation Bill).

In 2018 the Budget Session started on 29th January, 2018 and went on till 6th April, 2018. There was for recess period of 23 days to enable Departmentally related Standing Committees to examine and report on the Demands for Grants relating to various Ministries/Departments.
