Indian football coach Stephen Constantine has resigned from the after India was ousted of the ongoing 2019 AFC Asian Cup following India’s loss to Bahrain 1-0.

A draw against Bahrain in the final Group match would have led India to the knock out stage of the tournament for the first time, but a last-minute goal by the opposition kicked the national side out of the competition.

Constantine’s contract with the Indian National team was to run out at the end of the Asian Cup, not making his exit a surprise at all.
