A part of the main road close to the Maujpur Metro Station in East Delhi’s Shahdara area sunk several feet beneath the ground on Monday evening. During the incident, one car and one auto-rickshaw got swallowed in the pit due to a water line burst, according to police reports.The pit measured to be around 30/15.
In the car, there were two people and the auto-rickshaw has one person. All of them were rescued and escaped the incident with a few minor injuries. The car was behind the auto-rickshaw with its number plate fallen off.

The traffic movement in the carriageway from Babarpur T Chowk to Maujpur chowk was seized because of the incident.
The pit was surrounded by a large crowd after the disaster. Both the vehicles have been recovered from the pit.

The officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) arrived the location and are currently in the process of filling the road.
