In a report on HuffPost India, the woman, who is believed to have assisted Hirani on the film, alleged in an email dated November 3, 2018, addressed to ‘Sanju’ co-producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, his wife Anupama Chopra, sister Shelly Chopra and scriptwriter Abhijat Joshi. In her email, the accuser reportedly said that Hirani first made a sexually suggestive remark to her and then sexually assaulted her at his home-office on April 9, 2018. An excerpt from the letter read, “My mind, body and heart were grossly violated that night and for the next 6 months.”

Hirani has dismissed the accusations through his lawyer Anand Desai, calling it “false and completely unjustified”.

Now, Hirani’s name has been dropped from the posters of Sonam-Rajkummar starrer ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ as it was labelled under Vinod Chopra Films as well as Rajkumar Hirani Films.

The #MeToo movement wave hit the B’town last year. Names of many Bollywood celebrities cropped up. Among those were Anu Malik, Kailash Kher, Nana Patekar and Vivek Agnihotri. Alok Nath, Sajid Khan, Vikas Bahl, Rajat Kapoor.
