NewsMobile Smart Traveller: Fog delays 11 Delhi-bound trains

Date:

A few trains were delayed due to fog and low visibility in the morning. 11 Delhi-bound trains were delayed by two to four hours with visibility in the morning dipping to 600 metres.

“There was shallow to moderate fog in the morning. The sky will mainly be clear and there will be haze thereafter,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official told news agency IANS.

While the minimum temperature was predicted to increase by 2-3 degree Celsius since Thursday, Delhiites woke up to a fairly chilly morning on Friday.

Persistent cold conditions and moist westerly winds made matters worse for people in living in North India.

There were no reported delays in flights today. However, many airlines had put out an advisory on Twitter alerting customers about possible delays due to low visibility.

Meanwhile, Kashmir valley and plains received fresh snowfall, which triggered further fall in maximum temperatures.

The meteorological department predicted more moderate snowfall in upper reaches as plains may receive more light snowfall for next 24 hours.
