In Pictures: A tribute to the legendary actor and dialogue writer Kader Khan

Veteran actor Kader Khan passed away on Tuesday at the age of 81, after a prolonged illness. He was admitted to a hospital in Toronto, Canada for the past few days.

He was suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a degenerative disease that causes loss of balance, difficulty in walking and dementia.

Kader Khan was not only a legendary actor but also an excellent dialogue writer who changed the trends of dialogues in the Hindi cinema. He has written dialogues for over 250 movies and worked with directors such as Manmohan Desai and Prakash Mehra.

Some of the many films that he has written dialogues for include ‘Dharam Veer’, ‘Ganga Jamuna Saraswati’, ‘Coolie’, ‘Desh Premee’, ‘Suhaag’, ‘Parvarish’, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, ‘Jwalamukhi’, ‘Sharaabi’, ‘Lawaaris’ and ‘Muqaddar Ka Sikandar’.

Khan was the unsung hero behind Amitabh Bachchan’s success story as it was Khan’s lines in Bachchan’s voice leading him to the top of the Bollywood industry.
