Four terrorists neutralised in Pulwama

The security forces recorded yet another massive victory in their fight against terrorism on the Indian border, as four terrorists were neutralised following a six-hour long gun battle in the Rajpora area of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir on December 29.

An encounter broke out between the forces and terrorists in the early hours of Saturday and lasted for nearly six hours, following which the four terrorists were gunned down. The forces also recovered arms and ammunitions from the site.

This was the third massive victory for the Indian forces in the Pulwama district in the past two weeks. On December 22, in a similar kind of encounter, the forces had gunned down six terrorists, including Zakir Musa’s aide.

Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Arampora village in Awantipora area of the south Kashmir district following specific intelligence input about the presence of terrorists there.

A week prior to that, three terrorists, including Zahoor Thoker, were brought down by the forces on December 15 after heavy exchange of gunfire. The encounter began on the morning of December 15 in the Kharpora Sirnoo area of Pulwama district, and heavy gunfire was exchanged between the terrorists and security forces.

After hours of battling, the Army managed to take down all the three terrorists, which also included Zahoor Thoker. Though, there were casualties from the cross-fire, with two Army jawans suffering injuries and eight civilians losing their lives.
