NaMo government’s big vote puller may be an unemployment allowance

Date:

New Delhi: With 2019 General elections just a few months away, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP-government is expected to roll out the Universal Basic Income (UBI) programme.

Reports suggest that in the wake of BJP’s position in recently concluded assembly elections, the government is expected to roll out the scheme earlier next year. The programme promises a fixed amount of dividend in the bank accounts of the unemployed people in the country, along with those below the poverty line.
