A major step has been taken in Pune for breaking gender stereotypes by giant food delivery aggregators. Companies such as Zomato and Swiggy are hiring women to deliver food from the restaurants to the diners’ addresses.
Last night around 10.00 PM, a delivery woman named Dipali delivered food to a customer named Naveen Kumar Akkapally. Naveen took to his Twitter handle and shared his happiness about seeing the woman delivering the food.

On posting the tweet, there were several comments, both good and bad and one of them mentioned that Swiggy too hires women for delivering food from restaurants.
Swiggy already has many in Pune … and I hope men don’t get fresh with women who break stereotypes …

Till now, only men were seen as food delivery executives, and in other cities, it is still the same situation. Pune is the first to make to move towards eliminating gender stereotypes and this was one of the ways.
Some users of Twitter have also expressed their concern about the woman by praying for her safety.
Wow 👏. Hope she stays safe though . sorry that’s the first thing that came to my mind.
