Sambit Patra not removed as BJP spokesperson; don’t believe the FAKE news

Among many Facebook posts and Tweets, a claim started to flow in that BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra has been removed from his post.

Above Facebook post by Viral In India claims that Patra has been removed from the position of BJP Spokesperson. The post read: “संबित पत्र को बीजेपी प्रवक्ता पद से हटाया गया| अब मंदिर कौन बनाएगा? बफसोस”

(Translation: Sambit Patra was removed from the post of BJP spokesperson. Now, who will get the temple made? Disappointed.)

At the time of filing, this reports the picture post was already shared by almost 4,000 times on Facebook.

The claim went ahead when a news website India Time 24 published an article on same claims.

(Translation: Sambit Patra was let go, now this former minister is made the national spokesperson for BJP)

As per the article due to the loss of BJP in the recent assembly elections, Patra was removed as BJP’s spokesperson and BJP MP Rajeev Pratap Rudy has been appointed as his replacement.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile on Fact Checking the viral claim found that Sambit Patra has been not removed as the National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Not only there has been no confirmation of Patra’s removal from the BJP but he is still listed on BJP’s official website under official spokespersons.

Meanwhile, the news of MP Rajeev Pratap Rudy been appointed as a new spokesperson for the BJP is true but it has no impact of Patra’s position in the BJP.
