The benchmark indices broke a seven-day winning streak to end 52.66 points down at 36,431.67, on Thursday, while the Nifty50 ended 15.60 points lower at 10,951.70 as the US Federal Reserve hiked rates.

After the US said it would withdraw sanctions on Russian aluminium producer, metal stocks fell. The Indian rupee gained for a fourth session against the US dollar as crude oil continued to fall.
Oil prices fell about 3 per cent heading back towards their lowest levels for more than a year on worries about oversupply.
