In the Howrah district of West Bengal, around 400 people from several villages have been affected by a skin disease which seems like it has been caused by a fungus.
A medical team was sent to four villages of Shyampur yesterday by the state health department. The four villages are Malanchaberia, Kathilabar, Shibpur, and Shyampur.

Dr. Bhabani Das, the Chief Medical Officer of Health said that they received the information from the medical team about nearly 400 people belonging to the area were affected by a skin disease.
According to Dr. Das, it seems that the infection was caused by a type of fungus. He gave assurance to the infected people to stop panicking.

She further said that the medical report would be sent to the concerned department and the next steps will be planned after examining the report.
