The BSE Sensex closed 373.06 points up at 35,354.08 on Monday while the Nifty 50 ended 101.85 points higher at 10,628.60 led by gains in FMCG and finance stocks. Hero MotoCorp gained about 6% during the day, while ONGC remained the top loser.

Asian shares edged higher on Monday, though investors were cautious as plunging oil prices fanned worries about a dimming outlook for the global economy, said a Reuters report.
The rupee also strengthened for the eighth straight session to hit a fresh three-month high against the US dollar after crude oil prices dropped below $60 a barrel.
