Australia beat England to claim their fourth Women’s World T20 title

Australia, on Sunday, won their fourth ICC Women’s World T20 by beating England by 8 wickets.

Playing to regain the title they lost two years ago, the Australian team bowl out England for just 105.  Ashleigh Gardner combined with captain Meg Lanning then led Australia to their target with 29 balls to spare.

Gardner who was declared as the player of the match scored 28 from 29 balls meanwhile she took three wickets for 22 runs, while Lanning scored 28 not out from 30 balls.

The match started on a strong note as England opener Danielle Wyatt played a brilliant knock of 43 runs off 37 deliveries. But soon Medium pacer Megan Schutt, who along with Gardner managed to turn the game in their favor.

Alyssa Healy became the Player of the tournament for her 257 runs.

Previously, Australia won the title in 2010, 2012 and 2014 the latter of the two victories both over England.
