Congress workers stage protest outside RaGa’s residence over ticket distribution

Date:

New Delhi: As Rajasthan is all set for state polls, the grand old Congress in the state is facing a feud within the party as party workers on Saturday staged a massive protest outside Rahul Gandhi’s residence in the National Capital over the distribution of tickets.

At a time when a meeting was going on between the party president and Sachin Pilot, Congress supporters shouted slogans against the latter for awarding the Fulera ticket to Hari Singh instead of giving it to Spardha Choudhary, who is backed by Rameshwar Lal Dudi, present Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan. The party workers have been alleging that Pilot had taken money from Hari Singh in order to get him a ticket.

In a video, Congress workers could be seen raising slogans and protesting against the ticket distribution decision. It was then followed by blocking Pilot’s car from leaving Rahul Gandhi’s residence.

This is the second major in-fight within the party in Rajasthan to have come out ahead of the state polls. A couple of months earlier, the fight to become the CM face in Rajasthan between Ashok Gehlot and Pilot was out in open.

Inder Mohan Singh, the leader from the Sachin Pilot camp who wrote letter to Rahul Gandhi, said the Congress workers want a young chief minister and that they want to see Sachin Pilot as the chief minister.

“Respected Ashokji has given a statement in Udaipur which has put Congress workers in a dilemma. The young Congress workers are working with gusto and want a young chief minister, they want Sachin Pilot. Sachin Pilotji has been working so hard, 24*7 for the Congress party, for the benefit of the state. Everyone wants to see him as the chief minister. No doubt about that,” said Inder Mohan Singh.
