The Keto or ketogenic diet is a low-carbohydrate diet and involves consuming more fats. By fats, one would usually be skeptical about trying it since, usually diet plans limit the fat content in our bodies and increase the proteins.
The diet shares similarities with the Atkins and other low-carb diets. It is all about reducing the carbohydrate content in the body and replacing them with fats.
There are different types of ketogenic diets for all kinds of people such as standard diet for anyone, cyclical diet, targetted diets for a particular lifestyle treatment, and high-protein diet.
Although this diet has numerous health benefits such as burning of fat from the body, reductions in blood pressure and insulin, weight loss, cure from diabetes, and other ailments, a new study has been revealed by Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee, a leading cancer physician and the winner of Pulitzer Prize in 2011 with some warnings.
He has pointed out three basic things to keep in mind before starting the Keto diet.
- According to Dr. Siddhartha, switching to the Keto diet alone with PI3 kinase inhibitor is strongly recommended. PI3 kinase inhibitor is a category of medicinal drug that inhibits protein kinase enzymes that are used to perform cellular functions such as metabolism and growth control.
- He further suggests that the diet should only be taken under medical supervision or evidence.
- One of the surprising facts he mentioned in the findings was that there are high chances of leukemia, if the diet is followed with the drug or medical guidance.
And folks, please do NOT switch to keto diets ALONE without the PI3 kinase inhibitor, or without medical supervision or evidence. In our paper, leukemia ACCELERATES with keto diet alone. Please follow the data from our study https://t.co/iAqnnt2ScQ
