The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Friday announced the appointment of Abhay Kumar as the next Ambassador of India to Madagascar.
Abhay Kumar is presently serving as the Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) at the Indian Embassy in Brasilia, Brazil. Once he takes over, Kumar will be among the youngest ambassadors of India. Kumar said he will do his best in the next assignment.

An Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 2003 batch, Abhay Kumar is expected to undertake the new assignment shortly, the MEA press release said.
Kumar’s verified twitter handle says he is the author of seven poetry collections, the editor of CAPITALS and 100 Great Indian Poems. He was honoured with the SAARC Literary Award 2013 for his contribution to contemporary South Asian Poetry. His call for an official Earth Anthem has been termed by UNESCO as a creative and inspiring thought that would contribute to bringing the world together. An Earth Anthem penned by him is used by many schools across the globe. He also wrote a SAARC Song.
