The man in this picture is not an ‘engineer’ and neither is his father a ‘rickshaw puller’

Date:

A heartwarming picture has been doing rounds on social media where a young man is taking his parents home after his convocation ceremony.

The picture was also shared by some known personalities like Indian cricketer, Virendra Sehwag and renowned chef Vikas Khanna.

“Beautiful- This is an engineering graduate, Hisamuddin Khan who’s father is a rickshaw puller. Back from convocation he drives his parents home ” the caption read.

The tweets claim that the man in the picture is Hisamuddin Khan, an engineering graduate and is taking his mother and father, who is a rickshaw puller, back home after his convocation ceremony.

Fact Check

While the picture is authentic, the guy in the picture is not Hisamuddin Khan but his actual name is Wali Ullah and he has graduated as an accountant from Accountancy & Information Systems at the University of Dhaka. Wali shared the picture on Facebook on October 4.

The caption read, ” My mother is the crown of my life, that’s why the convocation cap is for her. My father protected me from all harms throughout my life, that’s why the convocation gown suits best in the sweat-soaked body of my farmer father.”

In his caption, Wali claims that his father is a farmer and not a rikshaw puller as the viral posts claim.  Ullah took to Facebook to clear the air. In his post, he states that his father is a farmer. ” I am ‘ Farmer ‘ Father’s child ” it said.

“My Father is not “Riksa Calaka, he is a farmer in the village. I saw a little wrong information in different places, I felt what you need to know,” he explained in the post.

With the age of social media, it is becoming extremely common for any picture to be shared with wrong information. We as a responsible being need to be more careful about the information we are sharing.
