Elon Musk announced, through a series of tweets, that a new chip would be available in about six months in all of the company’s new production electric cars. This chip will improve the autopilot features in the car.
The new chip is said to improve the performance of Tesla’s Autopilot between 500% and 2000%.

There would be a simple replacement of the Autopilot computer without any changes to the sensors. It will be installed in all the new production cars in 6 months and will be done free of cost for customers who have ordered full self-driving.
Musk said the installation of the chip would be priced at $5,000 for those who did not order full self-driving.
