Namaste England is one of the two major releases hitting the screen this Thursday.
Produced and directed by Vipul Amritlal Shah, the film stars Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra.
The film ‘s stale plot is its biggest bane. The story revolves around a couple who fall in love, get married and then the woman moves to England to follow her dreams and the husband follows her.
It’s beyond understanding as to what made Vipul Shah take this Namaste franchise further and make another film on a similar storyline. Perhaps they forget that Namaste London happened in 2007 ,had a novelty value at that point of time, and had charm and charisma of Akshay with it.
Now almost 11 yrs down the line, the run-away-bride plot seems stale and repetitive (likes of Badrinath ki Dulhaniya).
Its first trailer garnered 28 m views but the second one could gather just 9 m with a bigger percentage of nay as compared to yays.

Considering that it’s pitched against Badhaai Ho whose strength is its offbeat subject, Namaste England seems weak with its lacklustre plot.
The long festive weekend would have a larger chunk than normal audience flocking to the theatres. This might help the film get its fair share. Arjun’s and Parineeti’s fan following and a positive word of mouth are the only saving grace for the film to get good collections over the weekend.
Best wishes to Namaste England Team!
