Badhaai Ho is definitely this week’s most anticipated and most talked about release.
Its trailers have garnered about 28M views on YouTube in the past one month and is probably the only trailer that I remember having done the rounds of whats app as this one, prior release.
Directed by Amit Sharma, this movie stars Ayushman, Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta and Sanya Malhotra.
Ayushman has earned a steady appreciation amongst not only the audience but also critics with his good performances and diverse filmography. Many of his films have stories around small town set up like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Dum Laga ke Haisha which have earned him a lovable boy-next-door kind of image. He has also proved his mettle in choosing very offbeat and bold subjects like Vicky Donor, Shubh Mangal Savdhaan and now Badhaai Ho. The winning point in these films is that the so-called taboo or hushed up topics have been dealt with a touch of humour in a very subtle manner.
The superb cast has all reasons to feel confident.
Neena Gupta fans like me are more than looking forward to seeing her in a meaty role.
Sanya Malhotra, high on Patakha’s success and Ayushman who is already riding high on the success and critical acclaim of Andhadun, seems to be on a winning spree.

With the trailer and the movie making the right kind of noise, I am pretty sure, the movie is bound to have a great opening.
The early release on Thursday and festive weekend ahead are an added plus.
A Positive word of mouth is all that it requires to get great box office collections considering that it’s pitched against Namaste England whose lacklustre trailer and repetitive story line makes it a week contender against Badhaai Ho which seems to be everyone’s first choice of the week .
